The Hitchcock County Sheriff's Office is involved with the community service programs listed below.

D.A.R.E.

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program is currently taught in all of the schools in Hitchcock County by the Hitchcock County Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. instructor Chief Deputy Ron Daugherty.

 

Amber Alert
The Nebraska AMBER Alert Notification Plan; America's Missing Broadcast Emergency Response. The AMBER Plan is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies and broadcasters to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child abduction cases.
VINE
VINE Nebraska 1-877-NE-4-VINE (1-877-634-8463). If you are concerned about an inmate in jail or prison in the State of Nebraska, call the VINE toll-free hotline, 24 hours a day to hear custody information. You also register over the phone to receive automatic telephone notification of the inmate you are concerned about and is about to be released.
Crime Stoppers of Nebraska
Nebraska Crime Stoppers 1-800-422-1494. If you or anyone you know has information about a crime that may lead to an arrest call 1-800-422-1494. Cash rewards paid, nobody will know that you called.
Project Childsafe
Putting a lock on gun safety in your home. Project childsafe is a nationwide program to help ensure safe and responsible firearms ownership and storage, developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and supported by a United States Department of Justice grant. The cable-style gun locks are distributed free by the Hitchcock County Sheriff's Office.
Identity Theft Awareness
Identity theft has become a daily part of our lives and is a very serious crime. If you or someone you know is a victim of identity theft, you may want to call 1-877-ID-THEFT, a toll-free number provided by the Federal Trade Commission to help the public in dealing with the consequences of identity theft. There's no way one can make sure their home is 100 percent burglar-proof while they are away.
